"Queensland Retail Traders & Shopkeepers Association has taken down the state boundaries that have existed for
the last 120 years of our organisations proud history and now re-launched Nationally under the new brand of
"Qrtsa - The Retailers Association", said Scott Driscoll, Executive Director - Elect.

 

"Qrtsa - The Retailers Association, has launched its bid to actively represent independent retailers Australia wide
from a very strong base of already being the largest state based industrial organisation of employers in the retail
sector in the country", said Mr Driscoll.

 

"Qrtsa has now established offices in the CBD of Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, in addition to our
Brisbane head office", said Mr Driscoll.

 

"Qrtsa membership numbers already eclipse that of a number of other smaller retail groups claiming a "national"
status and I expect our numbers will again increase dramatically with our recent National push", said Mr Driscoll.

 

"As part of my vision as the incoming Executive Director of Qrtsa from April this year, I am committed to driving our
organisation Nationally and establishing "Qrtsa - The Retailers Association" as the senior industry
representative body of the retail sector in Australia and justifying our position as the peak industry voice of retailers
to government", said Mr Driscoll.

 

"Qrtsa has made the recent transition to a national industry body serving the independent retail sector Australia
wide, in much the same was as Qantas did many years ago with it's name change from Queensland and Northern
Territory Aerial Service. With the Q in Qantas representing "Queensland" and that companies beginnings, the Q in
Qrtsa will also continue as part of our name, indicating our proud origins in Queensland for the last 120 years and
the fact Qrtsa - The Retailers Association, will always retain our corporate head office in this state", said Mr
Driscoll

 

"Qrtsa is providing support to all independent retail members by way of lobbying all levels of government on
industry based issues, industrial relations advice and representation across all jurisdictions, staff recruitment,
traineeships and training, HR support, along with a wide range of other services at reduced rates via our corporate
alliances including leasing advisory services, heavily discounted merchant and Eftpos fees, payroll management,
and commercial insurances, just to name a few", said Mr Driscoll.
