Pets & Pet Supplies Retailers are now represented even more directly within The Retailers Association with a dedicated Committee and Chapter, focused on their sector specific interests and requirements.

Welcome to the specialist Pet & Pet Supplies Info Section and Members Entry Portal. This specialist section of our Association is dedicated to members who own stores that sell PETS, PET FOODS, PET SUPPLIES, or provide services including PET GROOMING, PET TRAINING and PET CARE.

If you are a member of The Retailers Association and require access to wages sheets for your sector, information sheets on important issues that impact your business, or the latest rules and laws that you need to be aware of, you can simply click on the red MEMBER SIGN IN button at the left of the screen and enter your member number and password. If you have not requested a password before, simply call our reception on 1300 721 730 and we can issue you with one so that you have 24/7 access to information critical to your business.

The Retailers Association has many members in the Pets & Pet Supplies sector who enjoy or advice, support and guidance everyday. This is your entry point to greater support for your specialist retail sector. Check back regularly for comment, updates and info on issues impacting your sector.

SOME RECENT ISSUES IN THE PET & PET SUPPLIES SECTOR:

  • The Retailers Association has recently represented the interests of our members to the ACCC regarding the move by some of the major supermarket chains to acquire specialist pet food stocks and enter the specialist pet sector. We have argued against the means such stock was acquired and also the matter of having trained staff to provide proper advice to consumers on the products.
  • The Retailers Association has also lobbied State & Federal Governments regarding moves to ban pet sales from pet stores. We remain strongly opposed to any such bans and will continue to work with members to ensure proper outcomes.
  • The Retailers Association has also been working closely with members to provide strategies and solutions in the areas of staff acqusition and retention, technology development in store and industrial relations reforms in store to increase efficencies and cost savings while rewarding and valuing good employees.
